Great food and excellent service! Kids had a blast fishing off their pier and the place provided 2 free poles and some bait also live music was great

Amazing! We found the place on Yelp and the reviews were good. It was Mardi Gras busy in the town but we were able to park in the lot. Seating on the deck was awesome, the Bushwacker and Miami Vice were delicious, the steak was cooked great but the service, most of all, was SPECTACULAR! 10 for service. 10 for location and seating and 10 for food!

The fish tacos were delicious and Brian was the best server ever!

Shaggy's had only been open 2 days when we stopped by after a great dinner at the Grand Marlin. We were looking for a quick beer and Shaggy's didn't disappoint! They even had my favorite hard cider by the bottle! The service was friendly and they have an absolutely amazing view from the back deck. The only downside was that we came in at 9:40 and they had already stopped serving food, and the bar was shutting down. It will be interesting to see how Shaggy's will measure up to the other great hangouts around Pensacola Beach!

This was a nice place to jump in and avoid a rapidly passing through rain storm. It reminded me of an island tree house. It felt like my very own personal secret hideaway. I drank a very delicious and frothy virgin pina colada. It was sweet and tasteful as I siipped it slowly waiting for the rain to stop and the storm to blow over. We ordered fried craw fish nachos and chicken quesadillas. What a nice little place to hideaway from the trials of island adventure with the family. I enjoyed the elevation of being up high to gain the majestic views of the marina and the water. Its a large wooden cabin feeling with large open windows without the window pains. I would advise this as a quick escape from the midday blues for a drink if you drink and to fill the tummy with a snack before lunch. I gazed long out the sides of this place sipping my pina colada and felt the rest from the rush of the crowds at sea level.

It reminded me of like a tiki bar upstairs. We drove by and decided to check it out after we dug our toes in the nice sand of Gulf Breeze. It wasn't crowded and we sat up at the bar. The rasta punch was good. Rum, midori, banana liqueur, grenadine, and pineapple juice all combined in one. The hurricane glass it was in was not worth 8 bucks. Maybe I would of been more please if it came in a bucket for the same price. There was a nice breeze coming in from the beach at night. I was really surprised there wasn't more people there. Maybe it's due to the prices or something.

I'm surprised at the overall bad reviews this place got, I would never think it to be a 5 star place but with the view overlooking the water, live music & strong drinks I can find a way to have a good time. The wait staff took care of us & didn't even bitch when we wanted to change our seats from the back patio to the front so we could enjoy the music. I will say be warned we were hungry & wanted to get an appetizer and main but the appetizer was so big we didn't have room to eat our food. As far as Lynn L's comment about things being overpriced. This is a tourist trap things are always going to be overpriced but if you want to partake this is the price you're going to pay.

  • Ryan T.

Good food and great atmosphere, live music outside was a plus! Our party had pickle chips and shrimp nachos as an app, both were good. For main courses, the pulled pork sandwich, shrimp and oyster basket, fish tacos and crab cake sandwich. Tacos and crab cake sandwich were very good. We will be back when in town!

Not a bad place to stop off once you've crossed over the bridge into Pensacola Beach. The drinks were strong (at least the day we were there) and the food was slightly above average for a bar. The servers were quick and friendly, but bear in mind that this was in February. Would I go there again, sure I would. The only thing I wish they had was a larger beer selection.

    (3)
  • Nick G.

I found nothing wrong with shaggys. The fried green tomatoes and Crab cake appetizer was phenominal. Great value for a kids meal as well. Nice setting, and the music was fun.

Good bar food. Good drinks. Nice breeze off the water.

Wonderful! We ended up here a couple weeks ago as celebration for me getting out of Sushi hell and getting into a different serving gig! The drinks were lovely, very good, and reasonably priced. We had the cheese fries for an appetizer and while they took FOREVER, they were amazing. We came to the consensus that the bacon topping was fresh and that was the hold up. It was also a very large portion, and had we not been starving that day, we would've likely been stuffed on those alone. I had the nachos as unfortunately these places do not have too much on their menus that are gluten free, but they were really good none the less! The salsa was especially good! Our server was excellent. She was attentive and very friendly with us! The whole place has a very friendly and open atmosphere, which is great. Will return, most definitely!

  • Hambri Enta M.

We had a Bushwacker which was tasty, but we doubt they had any decent amount of alcohol whipped into it. Left because it was dead and the menu was dismal.

  • Traci B.

We had lunch here one day and dinner and drinks on another night. The location is ofcourse fabulous. We did both lunch and dinner so we got to experience day atmosphere and nightlife of the place and enjoyed both very much. The place is funky and fun with good food, music, and a great bartender. All the little tables have excellent views and you get the whole outdoors feeling while still having the nice cool fans- lets face it, Florida in July is HOT. We had a blast!

  • Lynn L.

I've tried Shaggy's twice now. The atmosphere and view is wonderful. The drinks are overpriced. I had a drink with vodka that was $8. The same drink at a restaurant similar to Shaggy's is $4.25. I also had a fish sandwich for $12 and the piece of fish didn't even cover the bun. It couldn't have been any bigger than 3 ounces. I hope the soft opening was just that and the food and prices will improve.

  • James B.

We only had a couple beers and a app, it was good and the service was good and the view on the patio was nice. Good place to watch a game, they have quite a few TV's inside.

    (4)
  • Linda M.

View is wonderful, food...not so much. I had a very blah crab cake. My daughter had a grilled chicken quesadilla that she said tasted like it had been defrosted and put on the plate. No liquor and we ordered off the special menu for the most part, for a party of four w/ tip, it was close to 60 dollars. They should stick to bar food. One plus, and i don t know if it was seasonable, but the option to make "samore's" at the fire place was a nice plus. Otherwise, so so food with slow sometimes inattentative service.

    (2)
  • Jim B.

The mediocre meal was overpriced & the barn-like restaurant was noisy. But the worst part is the smelly indoor fireplace. So bad that it triggered a smoke alarm. I took a shower when I got home to get rid of the smokey smell.

My husband and I went back to Shaggy's for our 3rd try. The first two were less than desirable. We drive by Shaggy's everyday and really feel bad not supporting one of our local beach businesses. We are SO GLAD we went back!! It was a Five Star visit!! We walked in and immediately felt the warmth and heard the crackling of the fireplace (it was cold outside so this was such a treat!). We were greeted immediately by a very friendly server. We sat at the bar and ordered two ice cold beers. We started with the crawfish nachos, which were very good. (A little pricey at $11 but we ARE on the beach and everything is always a little more expensive). We then ordered the shrimp & grits dinner and the shrimp étouffée dinner. Both were on the 10 for $8 menu, which is a steal. Especially since the food was perfectly prepared and delicious, and the portion sizes were enough for leftovers. We were extremely impressed with the flavor of the food. Also impressive was the manager, who came by twice to inquire how everything tasted. The bartender was super nice, as well, and mentioned to us that Shaggy's has gone through quite a few floor managers and kitchen managers but now they're on the right track. We mentioned our previous experiences there and he said he was glad that we gave them another try. We told him we would definitely be back again and that this 3rd visit really changed our minds about Shaggy's. We are looking forward to going back and are glad that we have another favorite place on the island! Next time I will try the baked Cajun oysters... Sounds delicious!

Would have liked to give two and one half stars Was having some construction done at home so we decided after a late beach run to eat at Shaggy's. The view and building is all beach and very nice. The place was busy for a Tuesday evening but it is summer and the P.beach area is crowded. My wife had the Oyster Basket, and I tried the Shrimp and Oyster Filthy sandwich which had a "crawdad" sauce. I ordered the onion rings (+$1.25) I shouldn't have bothered and kept the fries instead. The rings were (or seemed to be) the prepackaged frozen kind that were breaded to consistently to be home made. The shrimp were the smallest kind and cooked in a blacked sauce they also may have been bagged and frozen but I don't know for sure. The oysters were fried and tasted good. The bread was a large white kind of a Po'boy roll lightly toasted and somewhat stale. Would it kill someone to have a crusty sourdough roll? The sauce made everything soggy. I would never order that again. My wife's Oyster Basket was tasty with a slight heat to the oysters which were soft and good. The fries were O.K. Home made onion rings, better bread would have made this place a four star just for the view and service which was very good.

We wanted to give these guys a shot. New restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Bloody Mary was watery. Food preparation took forever. Evidently new.cooks. Food marginal at best....ok, the whole experience sucked. Go elsewhere, we won't be back.

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today and it was really good. My fish sandwich was outstanding (fried). The sweet potato fries were good and my boyfriend liked his cheeseburger and regular fries. We had decent beer, and the prices were really good for a place on the water. I would go back again for sure to hang out for the afternoon.

Shaggy's is the new kid on the Pensacola Beach dining scene, and we are pleased with the addition of this open air bar and eatery. It is a relaxed tropical atmosphere with a good music selection, and nearly constant breezes wafting through. We work next door and have been over several times to try many of their menu options. They are now offering the full menu, and it's GOOD! They seem to be working on adjusting their menu pricing and are open to constructive criticism/suggestions. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They also have great specials for happy hour including discounted appetizers and drinks daily. Usually a creative mixed drink of the day is offered for $5. Menu items we like include the beachside fries, bbq pork sandwich, cheeseburger, jamaican jerk shrimp (which is really good over the caesar salad), green fried tomatoes with crabmeat, tuna bites, wahoo dip, fish sandwich, and quesadilla. The quality is consistent, portions decent, for the most part. There are some menu items that are somewhat overpriced, but it seems to be a work in progress. The mixed drinks other than the specials can be pricey compared to some other places. But they do have a $2 PBR tallboy. So overall there seems to be something for everyone, and the place has a good vibe. Hope they will continue to improve. Maybe the SRIA will even put in a crosswalk so people can get across the street from the Boardwalk area to enjoy the businesses on the other side of the road safely. Try it, you very well might like it.

We arrived at Shaggys optimistic because of the reviews it has gotten. We were not impressed AT all. Once seated, we waited 20 minutes before our waitress arrived at the table. We did however have a waiter come by and borrow one of our chairs in that time?!. Once the waitress arrived, we waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks. I know what you are thinking...and no we are not snowbirds or tourists. We are locals. We ordered our food finally and they were out of two things we ordered.... After getting our food, which was good, we waited another 30 minutes trying to get our ticket to pay. Seriously, we had to grab the hostess and tell her to get our waitress or someone to the table to give us the check. I guess after getting reprimanded by the manager, our waitress was prompt in giving us a to go box and bringing the check. After paying for the meal, the manager walked over and asked if she could help us in any way. Really.....she offered to give us a discount, in which, we had already paid the bill by credit card. So she said next time we come in, let someone know and they will give us a discount. Do she really think that is going to happen?! I'm giving this two stars only because the food was good.

A nice restaurant for a quick lunch. I had the fried oyster Po'boy, and my boyfriend had The Big Pig BBQ sandwich. Now, being from Kentucky, we are a little picky on our BBQ. It was much more sweet than we were used to, but still pretty good. The po'boys were pretty good as well. Service was great though. Drinks were always full, she came back to check on us plenty of times. Overall, it was a good lunch shack. Nothing too exciting or over the top, but still good.

Went there with wife and kids. Ordered Beach Balls (deep fried mash potatoes) for Appetizer. Creamy fried mashed potato balls with bacon and cheddar cheese, served with homemade ranch. Wife loved it. Wife ordered the Fresh Sucked Oysters On The Shell, served with homemade cocktail sauce, fresh lemon & saltine crackers. Come in half dozen or dozen. Daughter ordered Pasta with Chicken. I ordered the Seafood Platter. Beach Balls were great. Wife loved them. She liked her oysters. Daughter like her pasta. Eat on the deck. Great breeze and Great view. Kids can play on deck. Food was good. See pics.

We visited this restaurant on Friday night. Our server, Brent, suggested the raw oysters which were amazing. You truly can't beat the view from this place. Our server, however, made our entire experience. Brent was funny, friendly, informative and so helpful! Definitely ask for him if you want a good laugh :)

  • Tiffany C.

The sign outside reads "best seafood dive" and that pretty much sums it up. The drinks were pretty good and there were many options. The fried green tomatoes were very good with a little spice. The fried pickles were also very good. The seafood however, seemed a little bland and cheap. The crab cakes were all stuffing with little crab meat. During the day, the kids can use nets to fish for sea life and if they finish all of their kids meal, they get free dessert. The prices were not very cheap so that is why the 3 stars. I never mind paying more for better quality tasting food but paying a lot for cheap food isn't my thing.

Outstanding!!!! Great beach front resturant! Food was wonderful, open window views, server Josh was awesome! !! Oysters, hush puppies, sweet potatoe fries, chicken Alfredo, Cole slaw, tuna steak! !!, fish burgers, & fried seafood combo. All were incredible. Sandals, food, atmosphere awesome! Laid back great food, what you want on a sunny afternoon at the beach.

Outstanding food and our server, Skye took awesome care of us. Can't say enough about the food and service. Only drawback was it was hot. They should have opened more of the curtains.... But well worth it.....

What do you call a Mexican quarterback?...El Paso! A cheesy joke from a not so cheesy oceanside restaurant/bar. This was my second time to Pensacola and must say was my favorite place thus far. I ordered the drink special, which was some rum concoction served in a beach bucket with drink recipes on its side. Had a few more drinks that were equally as delicious and refreshing. The food was casual, but fresh and extremely delicious. I highly recommend the Wahoo dip as an appetizer. Our server was Shelly, she was fun and attentive to our tables needs before we even had to ask for anything. I believe Austin was the manager that checked on us twice. He made sure that my visit was pleasant and that I would be returning.

  • Angelique L.

Best Miami Vices on the beach hands down. Their seafood platter is amazing, I got it grilled. I definitely would have substituted the fries though. Their smoked wahoo dip is also perfectly light and delicious for appetizer. Love the beachy and open aired atmosphere.

  • Mechelle C.

Rarely have I visited a restaurant and wanted to order only appetizers, but tonight was one of those nights. It was my first trip to Shaggy's, and although the menu was not at all complicated, I found it hard not to focus solely on the appetizers! Fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat?! Be still my beating heart. (Will be getting them on my next visit!). My guest decided on the Tuna Bites, so I rolled with it. ...best decision I have made in a long time. Talk about perfection! Perfectly seasoned, perfectly seared...utterly delicious! The raw oysters on the half-shell were so good that I literally ordered another dozen for my entree. The service is excellent there, and the atmosphere is great. Perfect for couples and for families with small children. I will be back!

Went on a Wednesday to bar with hardly anyone there. Zach the bartender seemed to avoid eye contact with anyone fearing work. After 10 minutes I confronted him - he was rude. Charlie the manager is about as useless as Zach. Terrible service! I mean absolutely awful. So rude!!

    (1)
  • Michael L.

Try the Sun Dried Tomato Crab Cakes and ask for Zach the bartender. He is Awesome! His specialty is hiding the taste of liquor in his drinks. The rest of the staff was very helpful and the food was great!

    (5)
  • Rebecca M.

The best point about this place is the smell wafting from it when you're really hungry and the view is pretty awesome. The oysters--- flavorful but with just enough "kick" to set them apart. I had the shrimp tacos and what--- was that sauce?? Yummy. Fun place for tourists. Get there when the sun is setting and enjoy!

  • Whitney F.

We're locals and Shaggy's has been open for a while and we haven't visited so we decided to drive to the beach and give it a try. For an appetizer, we ordered the loaded nachos. Our waitress (very sweet girl) told us they were massive -- eh I wouldn't put it that way - we split them easily though. They weren't my favorite so I was worried about our food. However, our main meal was a delight! The hubs got a "Off the Hook!" Grilled Fresh Fish Sandwich - that came with a grilled pineapple and a soy glaze. He loved it. I ordered the grilled fish tacos with corn tortillas that came with chef's toppings that was shredded cheese and coleslaw. DELISH! We both ordered sweet potato fries that were cooked to perfection. They had daily specials that looked amazing, so we'll be back to try something else.

    (4)

Good burger and fries, fried pickles, and the cobb salad was huge with lots of toppings. We will be coming back in the future.

  • Cheryl G.

Our food was great! I agree that they are a little pricey but we were very pleased with the food. Especially the chicken quasadias however the service wasn't all that great. Our waitress came up MIA on several occations. My drink sat and the bar and was watered down by the time I received it. I later ordered 2 draft beers which I asked for an additional 2 times. The last time I asked for them they had been sitting at the bar for several minutes. This was our first day in pensacola and overall I was happy with our choice to try shaggys. Just wished the servers focused more on the guest rather than socializing and playing on phones :(

  • Bryan W.

We enjoyed our lunch at Shaggy's, 3.5 on a 5 point scale. I had the Dirty Shagg blackened grouper po boy, which was messy but very tasty. My wife liked her Stacker which was crab filled (not filler) crab cakes served over fried green tomatoes and a side seaweed salad. My daughter's cheeseburger was flame grilled and tasty. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and helped us narrow down the menu choices. There was a snafu with the order and the manager gracefully took care of fixing the problem. It was a nice spot right on the water, and we will be back next time we're in town.

  • Wane O.

Gave Shaggy's a try last night after a couple of our local favorites were too full for our hungry family to wait and I'm glad we did. No complaints about anything. Grilled fish sandwich, fried oyster tacos, shrimp basket, fish tacos were all spot on. Love their hush puppies. Darn good Bushwacker too. Not fancy but worth the stop.

    (5)
  • Stephen R.

Great water side restaurant/bar. Food was good, service was good, but the real draw would be location. Nothing really stands out besides the fact that it is on the beach.

    (3)
  • Jennifer B.

First time at Shaggy's today. Awesome drinks and so much fun! And our bartender Zack was on point. Bushwacker and the Relaxer are delicious!

    (5)
  • Eddie E.

Good blackened mahi and po boy was very good. Nice atmosphere, but very windy and a very casual place, Miami Vice drink was good but beer and water could have been colder for such an open bar.

  • Dave C.

As an update, management has reached out to me publicly via Yelp and privately through my email. I haven't really had time to respond as we are here for vacation, but based on their efforts I will upgrade this to three stars- if we can get back by there before going home, I hope to be able to upgrade them even more!

  • Gracie K.

I think we simply came in on a bad day. My husband ordered a seafood sampler and when it came out, there were no hush puppies. I ordered a steak and never received my salad. I said I was fine as long as we got a discount. The waitress said the salad was free so no discount would be given. We won't be back.

Ok besides the air headed hostess that just stares at you cluelessly , this place has the best crab cakes I have ever eaten ! Ended up calling in for crab cakes 3 additional times the 9 days I was here ! Will be visiting Pensacola beach again soon and will most likely call in a few times on the next visit !

    (5)
  • Ashley H.

Absolutely awesome!! Had their fried fish sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had!! Will definitely be going back on my next vacation!!

Great!! Very laid back, casual beach spot. Great, friendly & fast service. Quesadillas, fish basket, French fries and queso were all great. Hush puppies were just ok. The stand out though was the Beach Balls appetizers. Think fried loaded baked potato. So different but so awesome! Definitely recommend an order of those. Would definitely recommend and will return!

Visited from San Antonion June 2015. Sat outside and had dinner - party of 6 with kids. Awesome place! Food was great, service was great and they were great with the kids. Brought my 6 yr old a mini chalkboard with chalk to write on to entertain himself. We had 3 chicken alfredo plates, a pulled pork sandwich and fried fish and shrimp. The Fish was DELICIOUS. The pulled pork sandwich was also amazing. We also topped it off with cheesecake and a slice of key lime pie. The key lime pie was definitely the best. Will visit again!!

Awesome place. We're visiting from Texas and stopped by Shaggy's for lunch. This place is amazing. We had the shrimp basket and it was great tasting. Our waitress, Kristen was awesome. We highly recommend this waterfront bar and grill. We will definitely return.

My wife and I had the fish tacos and it was the worst dish we have had in a long time. It was all wrong. And plus it took over 45 minutes to be served and it wasn't really crowded. But I will say that the appetizers were outstanding. I had the popping shrimp and my wife had beach balls, which was a specialty made up of mash potatoes, bacon, & cheese rolled into a ball with corn meal and deep fried. DELICIOUS!!! Well maybe they just need to take the fish tacos off the menu. Lol

I wrote this place off when I first noticed its arrival - I'd heard it was a chain and the name seemed a bit generic. I ended up giving it a try a few years later, and I'm very glad I did! First of all, it's not really a chain - they have two other locations (in Mississippi), but the vibe is very local. Definitely nothing like Landry's (shudder). The environment is fun and beachy. My gf ordered a gorgeous margarita that she said tasted as good as it looked (I stuck with draught beer, which did not disappoint). We enjoyed the Wahoo dip and the grilled fish tacos (we got grilled Mahi Mahi). I got a dozen oysters, which weren't as juicy as some that I'd had on that trip, but were still very enjoyable. I'll definitely be back with some friends the next time I'm in town.

Recently visited Pensacola Beach with some longtime friends. It's was a girl's trip out snd we choose Shaggy's for a casual night out. We ordered the stacker which was fried green tomatoes with crab cakes and a delicious sauce for an appetizer. Suggested by our server, Cameron, and great choice. We ordered the seafood platter and shared. It was good but expected a little better. Shrimp were small and cooked too long. Overall a very enjoyable night with a great view and an excellent server. Will return on next visit. Cameron was very attentive, friendly and great personality which helped to make our visit a good one. All servers should have this attitude.

Great "tourist" type of restaurant in Pensacola Beach. The views over the water are great, and even though it is the middle of winter there were a fair number of customers when we went there tonight. Our server, Kayleigh, promptly seated us, let's is know about the specials and then took our drink and appetizer orders. She was just great thought the meal, stopping by to check on us without being pesky and answering our questions completely. We tried the appetizer special, which was half chili and half queso dip with chips, which was very good. We also had the Seafood Platter (though I passed on the oysters, so it was a combo of some sort) and the Seafood Pasta. The Combo was very good and both the shrimp and fish were well breaded without being overdone or doughy. I especially likes the fish as you could tell it was freshly prepared. The Seafood Pasta was very good as well, with the only complaint being that it could have been served hotter. But my meal companion likes their food as soon as it leaves the flames, so that's subjective. So, even in the dead of winter, it's a worthwhile place to stop for dinner. And the wait staff are all friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.

Pretty cool place to have a dinner on a starry night. We sat outside by the marina it was a cool scenery. The music speaker was right above us, it was difficult to hear one another. We asked to be moved to another table (they had plenty available) it seemed like a big deal to the staff. My boyfriend had the chicken quesadilla it was really good kinda spicy, my som had the shrimp alfredo he said it was ok. We would probably go back and try different menu items.

Have driven pass this spot count less times. Not sure why we never stopped assumed it would be to crowded. Nice spot, great service, cool sunset location. Food was very good and beer was cold. Our server informed us of the specials. They were very tasty and fairly priced. Look forward to next visit.

The food is mediocre. The view is pleasant. They actually have a captured market because there aren't too many places to eat on this beach. The last experience I had was AWFUL. Being that I'm in the restaurant business I'm typically lenient on the service I receive while out and tip regardless. But on this particular night I couldn't help but to be astounded by the way I was treated. My waiter came out with his fashionable man bun and leaned against my table with his eyes rolled. He was a complete jerk about the "specials of the day" and what type of beer they had on draft. We proceeded to order an overpriced pitcher of beer. He came back and wasn't too excited about taking our food order. We were hesitant about staying but we were so hungry that it didn't hardly matter what we were served. After discussing what a jerk Mister Man Bun was, we decided to leave. We caught him at the computer putting in our order and told him to cancel. A few minutes passed and we were introduced to the "manager" who proceeded to tell us, "Your fish is already on the grill; what do you expect me to do with the cooked food?" He then added, "I'll would be sure to feed it to the homeless." I told the "manager" how we felt about the waiter and that we were really sorry and he actually went inside and told Mister Man Bun what we said. After a few moments, Mister Man Bun came back with his 20% tip, threw it across the table and attacked us on what we told the "manager". The entire staff that we encountered at Shaggy's acted like a child. It was terrible for business considering every table on the porch apologized to me as I left. This was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had. I go to Pensacola Beach EVERY YEAR, but I will never return to Shaggy's. I'd rather go to the dreaded Flounder's because service is always on point. It's a shame that such a cool place is like a Frat House full of douche-bags.

Each time we go it gets better! The menu has plenty of selections for different tastes...seafood and non-seafood. Service is consistently above par and very attentive. We were seated in the dining area of the side bar room last night and it was roomy and comfortable. Shelly was our server and Chad was behind the bar. Both were super friendly and made great recommendations for us. Get the fried pickles appetizer. The stacked crab cakes were fantastic. Shaggy's is a regular "must-do"when we stay at Pensacola Beach.

Wonderful wonderful service ! Our third time here and each time our server and the manager have been attentive, very friendly!

I'm only giving them a three star review because I wasn't solely impressed. I was a little confused by who my server was because the First Lady that introduced herself only brought me menus and the check. I think the manager brought me plates, silverware, and refills. The low table was so short I couldn't fit my legs under it comfortably without hitting wood. The fried pickles were very good and a really decent sized proportion. The downfall and my biggest problem with this place was there was no kids menu. So I had to order a full sized meal for my two year old which was $10, he took two bites and spit it out. I can't understand why they wouldn't just do a smaller half priced proportion for kids. I can't see why they wouldn't have a kids menu? They're assuming families don't come here? It's a beach. It should be more family friendly. I had the crab cake sandwich and it wasn't something id order again but it wasn't bad.

What a great place right on Pensacola Beach. It's a laid back, easy going environment with great food and service. Bryce and Jacqueline were great servers. We were here on a $1 margarita day, so you can't go wrong with that. The quesadillas were full of meat and cheese. Will definitely be back!

Good views, good food, good service! Highly recommend the fried crab cakes and fried green tomato appetizer! Delicious and I don't even like tomatoes!

Take this from a local who has been to this place multiple times (never by choice), this is hands down the worst restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Never once have I been satisfied with my visits here. From soggy cheese burgers to dry nachos (how do you f*ck up nachos?) just about every item I've tried on the menu has sucked. I was told by my waitress that the fish tacos were made with mahi mahi, however, it looked/tasted very very similar to tilapia... And I'm 99% sure it was tilapia to be honest. The sweet tea was watery, and the service is absolutely terrible every time. The staff is rude and doesn't care if you think their service is shitty. Also, I had a friend who worked in the kitchen and said it was very unsanitary. The bathrooms were nasty too. I have almost nothing positive to say about this place except for it has a great view. It's a tourist rip off

The consensus of the five in our party was "Eh." Food was just okay. Service was lackluster, sometimes bordering on rude. The only thing we liked were the frozen drinks. And the big open windows and view of the sound. Don't think we will be back.

This was a really good lunch. For pub fare, they did a good job. We had the cornbeef Cuban and calamari. Both were executed well. The beer was cold and service was excellent. The haphazard decor and overly sticky table were the only detractors of the lunch.

Perfect beach food! Staff is great, friendly, and timely. I ordered the fish tacos, they were delicious. My partner had the chicken quesadilla; it was also n pretty tasty. Atmosphere is on point! Highly recommended!

If there were zero stars, then that's what I'd give this place. It's almost totally dead and we have been sitting here 20 mins, yet haven't had anyone even come by to give us menus and take our drink orders. We even ASKED for service and although they said they send someone by, they continue to stand in a group by the servers station on their cell phones. They are avoiding eye contact but have come around the corner and seen us multiple times. I watched the only bar tender on duty leave the restaurant for 5 mins now. Probably a smoke break. Eww. I am utterly shocked and a bit confused by the quality of service. Other customers look equally pissed. We are leaving. THE WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

Great fish, cold beer and excellent view of a Pensacola Beach sunset!!! Always enjoy sitting on the deck and the kids playing in the shore of Little Sabine.

The food and pricing is ok, our server was good, my biggest problem is with the amount of time I had to wait for a table. I had a party of three and we were told about a 25 minute wait, which turned out to be about 50 minutes. We sat at the bar as we waited and noticed many vacant tables, I'm not sure why we had to wait, but I think the place is poorly run, because the assistant manager could not give me a reason for our wait.

We had a great dinner. The kid was happy with her fried shrimp meal which came with a dessert. Hubs had the ShaggyFried Shrimp basket. He said it was very good and loved the jalapeño hush puppies. I had an awesome Cobb Salad with grilled shrimp. The salad was fresh with homemade ranch dressing. The salad was huge! Very happy. We would recommend this place and come back again.

The food was tasty and for the price a fair value. Didn't have any drinks but it seemed to have a nicely stacked bar in the middle of the dinning area. Friendly fun atmosphere (live music playing inside but not too loud to have to yell across the table). The only downside were the oysters (small but they handed us a bakers dozens). The staff were all friendly and down to earth. Dress casual.

This would have been a 3 star review, but the amazing service we received pushed it to 4. Honestly, so many of these ocean view places are the same. Shaggy's was good. Totally fine. Nothing offensive, but nothing extraordinary either. Our waitress Shelly made the experience special. I had the grilled fish sandwich. It was Hawaiian style, with a grilled pineapple slice on top. Love it. The hamburger style of the sandwich gave me that good beachy food feel, without eating something fried. My daughter and husband both had a "dirty Shagg" po'boy - basically a smothered fried fish po'boy. Looked good, and they both really enjoyed it. And my 8 year old son had a dozen raw oysters - his favorite. They were gorgeous, and we ended up with a couple extra oysters - which meant mama could have some, too. So yummy! The fried pickles were good. But when aren't they? So, really, pretty standard beach food, but over the top thanks to the awesome waitress we had.

Food was good. Wait time was shorter than expected. Staff was really nice and attentive. Ocean view on the patio was really nice.

Terrible service. The worst I've ever experienced in my life. The food was very less than average and after complaining they used every excuse in the book and the service never improved. Our bill was $150 with 5 adults and 2 kids. Just ridiculous.

Love the atmosphere here... This place has some MAJOR potential except for one glaring problem! The drinks are pretty good. The service isn't bad. The food, not so much! I will say that the fried pickles are awesome. Other than that, the food isn't good. AWFUL crab cakes!!!!!! Just a disgrace! And I'm 99.9% sure that the burgers they use are Bubba burgers (you can tell by the shape of them). Anyways, in sure I'll be back.. Just wish they'd step up their food game... Def need a new chef!!!

Food and service were fabulous. We had the Mahi Mahi special(with dirty rice and dirty sauce), the shaggy stacker, and the black and green po boy. The dirty rice was very flavorful and the dirty sauce was delicious! The portions were more than enough and we left full and satified! Our waitress, Shelly, made sure we were taken care of and was very good with checking for ingredients for our food allergy! She made our experience even better! The atmosphere was fun with all the games for the kids and we will definitely be back next time we are in Pensacola!

After a hard day relaxing at the beach, this restaurant was just what the doctor ordered. Food was out quick. Was good. Nothing to complain about. A lot to like. I do wish the seafood selection was more extensive. Less fried more... something else. But we were satisfied. And the smoked wahoo was the bomb. Even my ever so picky 5 year old love it. I recommend this place!

We got the dozen fresh oysters and got a few extra both rounds! The fish tacos were phenomenal! Can't complain one bit!

We've ordered from Shaggy's plenty of times with no complaints until today. We are regulars on the beach as we do business here multiple times a week and often need to catch a quick meal to go. Today we are working next door to Shaggy's so I ran over to get our lunch. Sit down to eat the Seafood Pasta ($14.50) and there is ALL of 5 small shrimp and not much else. Took it back and complained of lack of seafood and was told that that was the portion size, 12 shrimp. There was less than half that in the dish. Then was told they would refund the price of the meal. The employee went back and forth to the kitchen several times. WTF! What's happened to customer service? Throw 6 or 7 more shrimp on there and you'll have a happy customer. Guess what? Unhappy customer=not going back and telling everyone I can about our bad experience. AND, most times when u order to go and pay they refuse to give u proper change saying "we round up"! Is that even legal?

Fish basket, beach balls, fried dill pickles, chicken basket and crab cake sandwich were all really good dishes. Only disappointment was the fish basket was catfish and I really wanted Dore. It was tasty though. For Dore, go to Flounders.

Ok, I confess that we normally go to Peg Leg Pete's for a quick casual meal, but we opted ti give this place a try while spending a week at the beach. This was a good choice. The place is casual, but the food was very good. We had the fish tacos, that were as good as any that we have had north of the Keys, the Smoked Wahoo dip was very good and not overly smoked, the Seafood mac and cheese was in my estimation, better than Sarah K's in Destin, which I thought was the best in the panhandle. The grilled oysters was really the only let down. I like my grilled oysters to have cajun seasonings, and the ones here are very bland and on the small side. The service was very good and friendly. Overall the experience was very good. We do plan to go back again.

Got the fried green tomato topped with crab meat originally 10$ for 6 or happy hour 6$ for 3. It's clean, The food is good but a little pricey. The drinks an soda is expensive.

Yay! We loved this place. It's the quintessential beach bar. It also sports a real wood burning fireplace in the dining room. Being a Yankee, I love the smell of a fire. I ordered fish tacos with a side of fries and my wife ordered the etouffee. The fish tacos were delicious. The french fries were some of the best I've ever had. Now, about that etouffee. Stay away! My wife was sorely disappointed. She informed me that they skimped on the rue, which as any good Southern Louisiana native can tell you, is the key ingredient to an etouffee. We will definitely be going back, but not for cajun food. Stick with beach bar staples and you'll do just fine.

We had a nice dinner at Shaggy's last night for our first meal in Pensacola. It is right on the bay so had a nice breeze as the open seating allowed. It was Sunday so they had a bunch of tvs and football on for my husband to watch! We had the beach balls appetizer, my husband had fish tacos and I had the stacker appetizer of crab cakes and fried green tomatoes! The food was really delicious and the service was good. I'd go back!

The first time was a dinner. We both wanted a casual place on the island that had decent food and adult beverages. Don't want to have to drive in a unfamiliar place after a cocktail. The special that nite was a Cowboy burger so I decided to try it. We also had a Big Pig and the Poppin shrimp. Shrimp was good, fresh and cooked the right way. Shrimp were tender not tough. Not many placed can cook seafood the right way. The Big Pig was good and had a lot of meat on it. Great sauce with a little spice. The Cowboy burger was another story. Too much meat and too much other stuff going on. Burger, pork, cheese, coleslaw, sauce. No distinctive flavors. Rum and pineapple was a little watery but I think it was sitting on the bar a little long before it was served. The drink at the bar was better. Like the place and will be back again. Great patio overlooking the bay. Nice place for a drink in the afternoon.

The bartender was the saving grace of this establishment. I don't usually go for daiquiris, but Olivia the awesome bartender, assured me that it wouldn't be overly sweet and man was she right. The Miami Vice (I think that was the name) is seriously an awesome drink that just feels 'beachy'. I wish I could give awesome reviews on the food but honestly it was mediocre beach fare (i.e. mediocre quality and significantly inflated prices). I will say though, the Wahoo dip was some good stuff extremely flavorful with the right ratio of fish! All in all , the bar is a must go if only for the relaxing atmosphere and the view of the marina/inlet.

Dirty Shaggy sandwich! Boom! Good food, good bay view, good peeps, good prices. This place is where the locals eat. Also, try the wahoo dip: smoked with apple wood.

I've had a lot of items on the Shaggy's menu and every single thing has been fantastic! Raw oysters are great and reliable, the wings are flavorful, the fish tacos are AMAZING, and the quesadilla was perfect. I highly recommend the Jamaican jerk shrimp as well! You just can't go wrong! The atmosphere is great too with a beautiful view of Pensacola Beach and open air windows (in the summer). I will return again and again.

First, I received my salad but no silverware in which to eat said salad! I asked for something to eat with and the server looked at me as though I was crazy! I really did not like the idea of my napkins being a whole roll of paper towels! (Very cheap feeling). My crab cakes were brought to me COLD! I mean how hard is it to get hot crab cakes! They did bring me some hot ones but really?! My whole party had to wait while I ate my dinner as they were all finished by the time I got HOT crab cakes ! This sort of ruined the atmosphere of our last night of vacation!

Out first stop when we arrived. Typical bar food. Nothing outstanding on the menu. Service was friendly enough, but what took the cake was the view and the area beneath the deck where the kids could play while we waited for our meal.

You don't go for the food, you go for the environment. Pretty sure the cheeseburger was a bubba burger which was awesome, but oysters weren't served cold. Drinks and servicevwere great.
